The Center for Innovation and Technology in North Rhine-Westphalia, in short ZENIT, based in Mülheim an der Ruhr was founded in 1984. ZENIT GmbH is a public-private partnership with the participation of the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia, the ZENIT e.V. network with around 180 primarily medium-sized member companies and a bank consortium. It employs about 50 people.
On behalf of the EU, the federal government and the state, ZENIT primarily supports small and medium-sized technology-oriented companies and universities in their innovation and internationalization activities and brings together potential partners from business and science. The goal is to pave the way for good ideas for marketable products and services and to help them succeed internationally.
